Getting the Most Out of Your Web Site

The new web site looks great! And it should after the expense or volunteer hours invested. But what if no one knows it's there?

Search engines don't automatically pick up new web sites and pages. It's important to include alerting search engines of your existence as part of the start-up process. Best bets are Excite, AltaVista, Infoseek, WebCrawler, Lycos and Yahoo! Include the name of your site, along with other key words such as "rescue," "homeless," etc.
