Locating a Trustworthy Estate Lawyer

Finding an estate lawyer is more important than ever with new 2002 tax rules — or if you are one of more than 60% of Americans with no will -- but makes sure your choice is trustworthy. Forbes magazine gives these practical suggestions for locating an estate attorney :

Ask your local bar association for a referral.
Members of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel are preferred.
Avoid lawyers who accept gifts in your will.
Don’t name your lawyer as executor or trustee in your will.
